Terrible Product! Makes Your Hair Fall Out! Don't use Garnier Olia!

The same thing happened to me... I used the Garnier Olia beginning of September since I wanted a change to Red hair...

the color washed out within days and it was multicolored between brown, light brown, red and pink. Days later my lymph nodes were swollen and went to urgent care. I received antibiotics and my scalp was very irritated and it itched a lot. Later I noticed that my hair was thinning out and due to the itchiness my hair started to fall.

I recolor in November and used Loreal Preference in a soft black shade to get my original color back. My hair returned to its color but I was left with a bald spot and hoping and praying that my hair will grow back again... I have been very depressed about it and made a Doctor's appointment just to check if everything is okay with me and seek advice on what could help me. I will begin treatments of homemade hair masks hoping my hair will grow back and become strong again...

I have a hereditary gray hair streak and won't be dying my hair any time soon.

I want my scalp and hair to heal. Gardier should be banned from the shelves...

Garnier Olia Haircolor Review from Cork, Cork

I have been using Garnier Olia hair colour since its come out and love it!! It's the best box colour I have ever used. Now what I'm so annoyed about is that everywhere I go to buy the deep black colour I find it very hard to get?? I don't understand how the shops can have every other colour accept that one?! As I said I love this brand it leaves my hair soft and doesn't crack and break my hair like other box colours I have used. So I wonder can you tell me why I can't get deep black please. Their website contact page doesn't work, so I can't leave a comment there. I want to know why they discontinued the #91 light ash color and there are no other comparable "ash" shades in blonde, except the super light #111.

Both my granddaughters used this product back in September. One of the girls had virgin hair and the other color treated. To this day it is still on the hair skin, clothes. It was finally told to us to use Dawn dish detergent as it takes grease and oil off of wild life. It has worked ALOT but it is still in there. Plus it made their hair extremely dry with the constant washings. If your labs are suppose to be testing these products before you sell them you need to fire your staff before you ruin your good name. We will never use a Garnier product again and highly recommend others not to also. VERY DISSATISFIED

Garnier Olia Haircolor Review from Dallas, Texas

I first used this dye last year and absolutely loved the results. It made my hair soft, silky, strong, and thicker than any hair dye I've ever used.

I once again tried this dye yesterday and obtained the exact same results as last year. I am very pleased with how this hair dye works. The smell is great and the conditioner is fabulous. Also, whenever you dye your hair, you should expect some hair to fall out when washing it off.

I've been dying my hair all my life and it's happened every single time.

When you're putting a chemical to the roots of your hair, some hair will of course fall out.

This box hair dye is by far my favorite one to use and doesn't damage my hair nearly as bad as some other ones.

Garnier Olia Dark Brown caused hair loss/scalp pain- 7+months & counting

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Seven months ago I had the most luscious strong silky hair of anyone I've known. Kids would hang from it. Straight guys (like myself) would complement me on it at parties and bars, even though it was against their nature to do so and their jealousy showed a bit. No sign of receding hairline or thinning. Definitely one of my best features.- Used Olia for some grays (1st time ever dyeing hair), 3days later hair went bone straight, then dry and tangly- didn't feel like my hair! Day4 it started falling out on floor, shower, hands- at an alarming rate. Started trying EVERYTHING to stop it -all natural hair products, supplements, doctors tests, diet changes etc etc.- has it triggered Telogen Effluvium? an allergic reaction? damaged follicles? It's been just about 7 months and still falling out 300+/day how can my scalp still be feeling this? And will it ever stop? I have less than 30% left and losing my mind

Cons:
  • Way my hair fell out after using it

damaged physically and mentally by a dangerous product.

Preferred solution: All I really want is my hair back, what dollar amount can I put on my self esteem? Class action suit and taking the product off the market are the only 2 things I "want".

Worst hair color ever

I tried Olia because it was advertised as being gentle on your hair, no ammonia. I must say it is the worst hair color I have ever used.

My hair became so dry and frizzy, and stayed that way for a very long time. I was searching like crazy for a good conditioner (home remedies as well as store bought) and no matter what I used it was to no avail. Also my hair began falling out like crazy, I was almost a crazy person. The color lasted only a couple of weeks before the gray was coming through.

I dared not color again because my hair was in such horrible condition. Will definitely not use ANY garner products.

Garnier - Hair Dye Review from North Versailles, Pennsylvania

I decided to try Olia for my gray hair since I was having to dye it more often, I thought this would be a better choice (no amonia). I used it for about 4 or 5 times and at first I was really happy, pleasant smell and my hair felt and looked great!

I started to notice a gradual increase in the amount of hair I was loosing in the shower, I have long hair so I always lost a bit. But it was starting to come out in clumps between my fingers! I started to become concerned, but hadn't put 2and 2 together yet. Then, one morning I was drying my hair and I noticed I had bangs!!!

I don't have bangs!!! My hair was breaking so bad that what was once about 12 inches long, was now about 3 to 4 inches long and shorter in some other places at my temples and right in the front of my hairline!!!! My hair is ruined!!!!! I can only wear it in a ponytail now because I can't style this mullett like hair this product has caused!!!

I am so upset!! Don't know how to stop the breakage or repair the damage that has been done!!! This stuff needs to be pulled from the shelves!!

Class action? I'm definitely in!!!!

Wrong Color!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I used the Garnier dye BL26 Reflective Auburn Black on my friends hair and it turned out BRIGHT STOP LIGHT RED. It is impossible to contact customer support. I fill out the form and it claims to have an error on the page. I can not even get any one on the phone. We did everything exactly as the directions said to. Her color before was medium brown, so the color should have turned out even darker, yet it's almost lighter. The color on the box is a really nice purplish black, NOT BRIGHT FREAKING RED. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

Made My Soft Healthy Hair DRY

This is the worst hair color I've ever used. It made my soft, healthy hair dry and brittle and I used it exactly per the instructions.

I could feel the straw-like feel as soon as I rinsed the color out. The conditioner didn't make much difference, maybe none. Trying to style my straw-dry hair was a disaster, it just wants to go straight and sticky outy. Also, the design of the applicator bottle makes it almost impossible to work with, it's fat and round and kept slipping out of my hand and splashing permanent color in my bathroom.

I have a little arthritis so opening my hand that wide to grasp the bottle and then squeezing hurt a lot. I will never use it again and say False Advertising and give it a Zero.
